elegantly dressed and back at work














Liz Imbrie, in The Philadelphia Story: see, even in 1939 you could be a sparky professional girl & look great in a little suit (and go to society weddings, and get Jimmy Stewart, and and and... but the poor girl did have to both suffer and work for it).

I was watching an early Hitchcock film the other day, and found myself thinking that clothes of that period just haven't aged. Jimmy Stewart is my hero.
